Dave Holland (keyboard). My first fair was Barsham Faire 1976.
In later years I played with Lol Coxhill as the Johnny Rondo Duo at several fairs – I’ll check my archives!
Towards the end (1981) I also did shows with Daniel Rovai (The Barneys, but also a larger spectacle at Heveningham, where I played a soldier, with Tom Pod & Gil Gillilan), and I brought Zambula up from Penzance to Rougham Tree Fair.
At the last named (1981), I also played as a trio from London called Dave Holland’s “What Next?”, and guessed this is where Danny Thompson derived his band name Whatever Next. (He was friendly with Lol, I remember.)
Finally, I’ve got a great photo of percussionist Frank Perry (gongs, etc.) sleeping on straw bales in the early hours, next to his LP “Deep Peace”.
